10 Things I'm loving in the first quarter of 2017

Its monthly favourites time again. I couldn't possibly do a monthly favourites post every month because I don't think I could call something a favourite after 30 days. However, doing a post like this every three months sounds reasonable enough.

Between January and March these are things I have been using, watching and consuming and simply can't get enough of :-)

what i'm wearing - everyday makeup

This is the Essence lash & brow gel mascara. A clear mascara in your vanity has to be an essential makeup item for everyone. I have been using the product to set my brows everyday and it works like a dream. Previously, I used the benefit gimme brow which was good but I started noticing that it would leave white streaks in my brow hairs and at the end of the day look a bit crusty.

This stuff is the secret for the perfect brows.

The clear gel avoids any potential for crusty brows and the applicator is long and thin making sure to comb through every hair. This is also really great for days when you don't want to wear makeup but need that little something to make you look awake and fresh. I would use this as a mascara which extends and emphasises your lashes.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that this has been a favourite of mine for a while now. Its the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Creamy Concealer. What an affordable and brilliant product. Bourjois definitely got it right.

It's a lightweight, full coverage blendable concealer which you can use under your eyes and even on problematic areas. Retails for R160.00 at Clicks pharmacies. Mine is in the colour 03 Dark Beige.

In the colder months my skin suffers from dryness and especially around my eye area. If you also struggle with this try out this hydrating eye cream from Bobbi Brown. It's quite pricey but very worth it. It's really been my go to for the last couple of months and a little goes a long way with this.

Made famous by millions of beauty guru's around the globe as the world's best primer. I do believe Nikki Tutorials on Youtube started the whole craze around the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm.

If you have sensitive or problematic skin that struggles to hold makeup throughout the day, you need to try this. Not only is it a great primer but it works as a moisturiser as well. Definitely a favourite for me and doesn't get old.

how I maintain my skin - skincare

I no longer dread the long process at the end of the day to remove my makeup thanks to this magic in a bottle. Mac cleanse off oil is the answer to makeup removing. Simply pump once in your palms, run together and smear onto your face moving it in circular motions over your eye area, face and lips. In 30 seconds all your makeup is lifted off the skin and ready to be rinsed off.

Rinse, cleanse, tone, moisturise and you are done in no longer than two minutes - with a makeup free face.

Toning is a important part of your skincare routine to remove any dirt or impurities left behind from the day. Finding the right toner for your skin is the challenge. After trying quite a few on the market this is one toner I have repurchased three times already. It's calming, soothing and very cleansing for my skin. Nothing compares at the moment.

drinks of choice

In my previous post which you can read here I mentioned that my skin hasn't been doing so well so I made a diet change cutting out caffeine, sugar and junk food replacing it with fruit, water and healthier foods. Well part of this was cutting out coffee which I replaced with this pukka detox tea. It's amazing and quite tasty and I have already seen differences in my skin.

Also, in my recent posts, which you can read more on the side bar, you might notice I am quite obsessed with Aloe Vera for my skin but I also managed to find an Aloe Vera drink. It's similar to a juice and tastes like a juice but it's more like flavour infused water with Aloe Vera particles inside.

This helps with my hydration and water intake for the day and makes it fun!

what i'm watching non-stop

If you follow me on Twitter you will see that I tweet (a lot) about what I'm watching and recently found this new show on Showmax called "Younger" which follows the life of forty-year-old Liza who poses as a 26-year-old, and bags a job in publishing, a hipster wardrobe, party-animal friends and a tattoo artist boyfriend half her age.

I watched the pilot to see what this was all about then found myself on episode 10. It's just pure entertainment and something I can sit back and relax to. I know I am such a girl.

Definitely check it out on Showmax and season three is now available to watch as well. Also stars Hilary Duff who I loved watching growing up on Lizzie McGuire - who remembers this?

Again if you follow me on Twitter you will know I have been on the hunt for season 7 of Vampire Diaries. Well to my amazement Vuzu is showing season 7 & the final season 8 now. So I record it every week and binge watch in my free time. Nothing better than immersing myself into the dark world yet romantic world of Vampires from Mystic Falls.

These are a few things I have been using and loving and I predict they will still be my picks for the rest of March. Until next time!

Peace&Love
